Geolocation

What is Geolocation?

Geolocation services on your mobile device provides you with a greater experience by providing information on local businesses, attractions and information.  You probably use geolocation services without even knowing it, whenever you search for a local coffee shop or the nearest gas station.

Car Show Pro utilizes geolocation services to provide car show administrators with a way to enable People's Choice Voting for those attending the show.  This feature allows the attending public to use their smartphone or tablet to cast votes for the autos they like the best (an internet connection is required).

Car shows that have enabled People's Choice Voting will normally provide an allowable distance from the show that the attending public can vote.  Geolocation confirms the location of the user to verify that user is within the allowable distance from the show.  Once confirmed, the user can then vote in People's Choice.

NOTE: If your location cannot be determined, or your estimated geolocation puts you outside a pre-defined radius of the show, you will not be allowed to vote.

How Accurate is Geolocation?

Geolocation accuracy can vary based on a number of factors, such as the GPS hardware in your device, cellular signal, available wifi networks, etc.

Generally speaking, accuracy of geolocation increases with the number of methods of determining location.
